THE KURILPA POETS
Sunday 25th March, 2pm
with Mystery Musician
and Unsuspected Artist
not to mention
Two Open Mic sessions, Prizes, Free Food & Refreshments, Fabulously Friendly & Eclectic Company,
Free Onsite Parking & More TBA!
For our Theme this month the Kurilpa Poets continue with
their Poetical/Alchemical exploration of the Elemental Universe and celebrate Matter made manifest
in its most Primal form,
that being Earth, the first of the Elements!
Be it found in the form of Dirt, Mud or Dust, Rock or Metal, ‘The Spirit of Earth‘ is manifest in the smallest handful thereof and indeed lurketh also in the very vastness of the Planet beneath our feet, for Earth represents both Home & Harvest for the Human Race.
Yes Earth gives form to all our dreams. Manifesting through her many Avatars
She clothes herself in our cities & landscapes.
So bring your earthiest limericks, your most down to earth verse, and your dialectical diatribes grounded in the solid bedrock of Social Realism to share with the Kurilpa crew during Open Mic.
Of course our Themes are not compulsive, merely suggestive, so feel free to read on any subject, and bring your Hippy-drippy, airy-fairy, fiery barn-burner poems as well!
Our Mystery Musician this month is non-other than local journeyman troubadour, TOM SMITH.
Tom and his guitar are familiar figures in the Kurilpa Creative Community, popping up here there and everywhere, often in company with the Zippety do dah Band.
So come along Sunday 25th March and join the Water Rats and Friends at
the olde Croquet Club
91 Cordelia Street, South Brisbane,
in the shade of the green trees of sacred Musgrave Park
