More Poems about Dinosaurs and Cats, Sunday 24th September

The Kurilpa Poets

proudly present;

“More Poems about Dinosaurs and Cats”

Sunday, 24th September, 2pm

91 Cordelia Street, Sth Brisbane

‘neath the trees of Musgrave Park.

Sylvia Plath and TS Elliot don their costumes in preparation for this months Kurilpa Poets event

Spring is in the air and the Water Rats have awakened from their Winter hibernation to launch their latest poetic extravaganza upon an unsuspecting world.

This month our poetic theme is dedicated to the lumbering giants and the slinking felines that have graced our planet,

and was in part inspired by last month’s Feature Poet,

Tom Nelson‘s touching, bittersweet poem;

Our Dad Hates Cats“.

Also, it may not be generally known

that “Cats” and “Dinosaurs” are the two most frequently entered search terms (after Pornography & Donald Trump of course) on the Internet today and as such our theme is clearly a cheap ploy to act as click-bait and seize the fickle Public’s attention for a nano-second or two..

Be that as it may, we encourage people this month to bring

 their poetic tributes for the scaled, the feathered and the furred.

Our Mystery Musician this month is non-other than the enchanting Mz Jem Sparkles, surely the personification of Spring herself and a real cool cat to boot.

The Reverend Hellfire will be emerging from his primeval swamp to act as Master of Ceremonies, whilst

Lumbering thru the Virtual Gallery’s Big Screen, will be artistic leviathan,

Jack B Yeats, landscape artist and brother

of the famous WB Yeats of Poetic renown.

As always there’ll be 2 Open Mic Sessions, Free Food and Refreshments, Free Onsite Parking, Surprising Prizes and fabulous, friendly Folk in full abundance.

Yes, all this and more for a mere $5 at the door

or an even more mere $4 if you’re a KICI member.

And if you’re feeling Community-minded we encourage you to bring a plate or bottle or packet of something nice

to share at the Feast.
